Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 18, 2026
This policy describes what data CityWage collects from visitors, how it's used, and what third parties are involved. It's written to be readable, not exhaustive — if something here is unclear, treat it as a gap we need to close.
What we collect directly
CityWage does not ask you to create an account, submit forms, or share personal information. We don't have a login, a newsletter signup, or a contact form that stores data. You can read every page on this site without identifying yourself.
Analytics
We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns — which cities get visited, which pages load, how long people stay. Analytics data is collected in aggregate and not tied to an individual visitor's identity by us. Your IP address may be processed by our analytics provider but is not stored by CityWage beyond short-term log retention used for security and debugging.
Advertising cookies
CityWage participates in third-party advertising programs, including Google AdSense. These programs may set cookies on your browser to serve ads relevant to your interests. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out page. Opting out will not remove ads — it will make them less relevant.
Third-party data sources
The figures published on CityWage come from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the US Census Bureau. We pull this data directly from their public APIs. Those agencies operate under their own privacy policies; we don't transmit any information about you to them.
Hosting and infrastructure
This site is hosted on Vercel, with data stored in Supabase. Both providers may log standard request information (IP, user agent, timestamp) for operational and security purposes. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
Children's privacy
CityWage is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change what data is collected or how it's used, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted in plain language.
